Our Vincentian Twin

The Attleboro District has recently begun a formal Vincentian Twinning relationship with the St. Vincent de Paul Society's Conferencia Nuestra Senora del Perpetuo Socorro in Piedra Blanca, Dominican Republic. This Conference is located in a rural area. They help the people in their community with food, medicine and clothes. They also help some of them to repair their houses. Unemeployment is very high in this part of the Dominican Republic, and after the recent hurricanes many families have lost almost everything. Their spiritual advisor gives formation courses for the members of their church and the members of the Conference. They do home visitations and bring the Word of God to their neighbors. This Conference was recently changed from a youth to an adult conference.

Our responsibilities as a Twinning Council are to help support financially the Piedra Blanca Conference, communicate with them on a regular basis, and pray for them. We recently received a letter of acknowledgement and thanks from our Twin. As our relationship with our Twin grows, we will continue to update this page.
